Your Name

You got it from your mother,

it was all she had to give,

So it's yours to keep and cherish

for as long as you shall live,

It was clean the day she got it,

And a worthy name to bear,

When she got it from his father,

there was no dishonor there,

So protect and guard it safely,

For when all is said and done,

You'll be proud the name is spotless

when you give it to your son.

YOU ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANY OF YOUR PROBLEMS.
The process of growing and learning always involves risks.
Courage comes from the reserves of your mind that are much more powerful than your outside circumstances.
When you are bigger than your problems, you gain the courage necessary to win.
Courage is the power to face difficulties.
Obstacles will always look large or small to you according to whether you are large or small.
Courage is the capacity to confront what can be imagined.
It gives you the ability to rise above reality.
See things as you would have them be instead of as they are.
Overcoming obstacles is the price of achievement...the price of greatness.

~ Baby's Blessing ~

A baby to hold,

A baby to keep

A baby to love,

Awake or asleep.

A baby to rock,

A baby to feed

Relying on you

To fill every need

A baby to teach,

A spirit to mould

For wisdom is much

More precious than gold.

There will be trials,

There will be tears

So always remember,

Trust God through the years.

My Thanks To God

The Lord has been good to me.

He gave me all things I see.

My husband who is good to me

And all my children four you see,

two grandsons to love and grow.

All These he gave to me.

One little flower he took from me.

He blooms in heaven don't you see.

But I know that I will be with him in eternity

The Lord knows what is best for us;

Arranged our lives as he thought best.

So I will bless the Lord and let

Him manage all the rest.

And as I do his blessed will,

I pray that God will guide me still

and help me as I work and pray

through the end of every day.

Brothers

As brothers we pursued rainbows

When we weren't very old

For we believed at the foot of it

We'd find a pot of gold

Of course we never found that,

But found the richer pleasure

of comradeship with brothers

worth more than fabled treasure.

My Son

My son is my special angel,

Sent to me from God.

He looks upon me as his hero,

An image I hope

Never to destroy.

His blue eyes can be shiney with tears,

His feelings revealed from his heart.

Or even have good intentions.

True, sometimes he drives

Me to clench my teeth.

He can get to me with an

"I love you, Mom."

He can make me want to run

As fast as I can in another direction,

Changing my identity.

But then he honors me at a

Mothers' Day program

With love and pride.

I check on him at night

To see his angelic face

Against the pillow, our family cat

Sleeping beside him.

He can tell me he has a dollar

To buy a car for my birthday.

I know he's my son,

An individual that's irreplaceable.

Believe

" Believe in yourself

in the power you have

to control your own life

day by day

Believe in the strength

that you have deep inside

will help you show the way

Believe in tomorrow

and what it will bring

let a hopeful heart

carry you through

For things will work out

if you trust and believe

there's no limit to

what you can do!!!"

" Somebody said that it couldn't be done,

But he with a chuckle replied

That "maybe it couldn't", but he would be one

Who wouldn't say so till he tried.

So he buckled right in with a trace of a grin

On his face. If he worried he hid it.

He started to sing as he tackled the thing,

That couldn't be done and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;

At least no one ever has done it"

But he took off his coat and he took of his hat,

And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.

With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,

Without any doubting or quiddit,

He started to sing as he tackled the thing

That couldn't be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,

There are thousands to prophesy failure;

There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,

The dangers that wait to assail you.

But just buckle in with a bit of a grin

Just take off your coat and go to it.

Just start to sing as you tackle the thing

That "cannot be done," and you'll do it."

" Dear Lord, I pray

At the end of this day

I'll look back at the choices I've made:

The time that I've spent,

The places I went,

The things that I've chosen to say,

The thoughts that I had

(The good and the bad)

The number of times that I prayed,

And that I'll decide

I really HAVE tried,

And I'd live it again the same way."

A young couple were making passionate love in the guy's van --

you know, shag carpets, big double bed in the back, all of that -

- and suddenly the girl, being a bit on the kinky side, yells out,

"Oh lover, whip me! Please whip me!"

Well, the guy, not wanting to pass up an opportunity like that,

but unsure what to do as he has no whips around, gets an

inspired flash, opens a window, snaps the antenna off his

van, and proceeds to whip the girl until they both collapse in

sado-masochistic ecstasy.

Almost a week later the girl notices that the welts she

sustained are beginning to fester a bit and goes to her doctor.

The doctor takes one look at the wounds and exclaims, "Wow!

Looks like you've got a bad case of van aerial disease!"

" Wherever life may take you

Whatever goals you seek,

Remember that you're special

And your talents are unique.

Remember what is in your heart

Should always be your guide,

And that each day you're thought about

With so much love and pride."
